I was invited to go on a shopping outing at Value Village with some friends yesterday and I’m actually really proud of one of my purchases! To be honest, I only bought 2 things. I bought a pair of pants, and this:
I know, I know, you’re probably asking yourself, “Why would anyone in their right mind need a red riding hood??”
Well, the answer is Halloween 2011! Plus, it was practically made for me! It’s bright, bold, and fun! My friend dared me to wear it to work one day, so I’ll definitely be doing that. And if I ever need a costume, I already got it covered. But really, I am glad I got it because it will make it easier this Halloween when I’m fighting to figure out what to dress up as. For me, the simpler the costume, the better . . . and it was only $6!
As you know, any excursion in a clothing store is just another opportunity for me to play a giant game of dress-up!
However, I think the highlight of the day was George Michael’s “FAITH” playing over the loudspeakers. Because you know it’s just not a shopping party until THAT happens!
We kept shopping and found some pretty sweet stuff:
We finished up our trip with a visit to one of my favorite bakeries—Larsen’s Bakery in Ballard! I got a slice of lemon cake with marzipan frosting to have with my dinner, and Heather opted for a “creepy frog” cupcake:
