Something Electric

Boss: Have you ever been inside an electric guitar? I mean, an electric car!
Me:  Nope! I’ve never been in an electric car OR an electric guitar. haha! Today will be a day of firsts!

Living in Seattle, I don’t have much need for a car. Luckily, I have friends who are willing to give me rides to events and the local transit system here is pretty amazing. My dream car, though, would be an indie blue Mini Cooper S! Why all this car talk, you ask? Well today, I got to ride in an electric car! It wasn’t a hybrid, just full on electric! One of my co-workers and his partner got the new Nissan Leaf as part of the testing release they started this past weekend!

 

I gotta admit, it was pretty fun! It handled well (even on the cobblestone/rocky hills of Lower Queen Anne) and was really comfortable. It blows my mind the way technology is moving forward! I know that they are still doing a lot of evaluating and re-evaluating, so as they gather more user data, they’ll improve on it. I’m still gunning for the Mini Cooper S, but these electric cars are pretty amazing!

 

 

One of my favorite parts for sure was all the cute little control panels! It was so trippy to see the gas symbol with an outlet attached. When it comes to technological things, I am a sucker for the design as well as the bells and whistles. So naturally, I was all smiles when I saw the inside of the Leaf.

 

 

Did I mention that it’s a pretty blue Leaf?? Yeah, I’m definitely a sucker for blue vehicles! 😀
